the Wednesday Edition

In the immortal words of Ash in “Army of Darkness”
“First you wanna kill me… Now you wanna kiss me… BLOW!”

Ok, that may be backwards in relation to this post but Islamic Jihad declares a week-long truce with Israel, but quickly does an about-face.

Islamic Jihad senior leader Khaled al-Batash denied reports that the organization has decided to cease its Qassam attacks on Israel for one week. Al-Batash said that the group had no connection to statements made earlier by an al-Quds Brigades official, who said the Jihad’s military wing intends to halt rocket fire.

Another Jihad official, Sheikh Khader Habib, said Sunday noon that it was not only the Palestinians’ right, but also their sacred duty, to retaliate against Israel. Habib vowed that “the Jihad and the other groups will soon teach the rulers of Tel Aviv a lesson they will not forget.”

I hate the fact that the media, too often, gets the story wrong… or only half right… or misses it completely.

I came up with the idea of the Wednesday Edition after a night of drinking with some very liberal colleagues of mine who are very intelligent, very outspoken, but very uninformed. I am a centerist @ heart but I lean to the right on most issues and that makes me quite the unpopular fellow at these get togethers. (We do this every Tues night after work… hence Wednesday Edition)

This was going to be used as a forum to lambaste thier claims and ridiculous accusations. It still may be used to that effect, but I’ve decided to educate them first.
